LangevinAI is a web application for CFOs, FP&A analysts, and finance controllers. Upload a general ledger export from any accounting software and the tool automatically classifies every account, builds a P&L and balance sheet, detects the company's industry, and generates one-sentence AI variance commentary per account — without any spreadsheet work.

## What it does

- Parses any general ledger export automatically (CSV, XLS, XLSX)
- Detects the header row, column mapping, and date formats without user configuration
- Classifies every GL account into: revenue, COGS, expense, AP, AR, cash, asset, or equity
- Detects the accounting industry framework (SaaS, Real Estate, Healthcare, Non-Profit, Professional Services, Financial Services, or Standard) and adapts all labels accordingly
- Builds a full P&L with subtotals (Revenue, Gross Profit, EBITDA) and a Balance Sheet
- Generates AI-written one-sentence variance commentary per account, referencing uploaded supporting documents (PDF, Word, email) where relevant

## Data privacy

LangevinAI has zero-persistence architecture. General ledger data is parsed entirely in the browser using SheetJS and lives in browser memory only. It is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis and is never written to any database or file storage. Refreshing the page clears all data. The API proxy is strictly pass-through — it verifies authentication and streams the response without logging or storing content. BYOK users' API keys never leave their browser session.
